Allie's Pre-School Graduation

I cannot believe that my baby girl is old enough to graduate from Pre-School! It seems like yesterday that I was taking her to Miss Bridget's for the first time. I remember that day so clearly. I had been warned that I was going to cry like a baby when I left her. I did not shed a single tear! I don't know if that makes me a bad mom, but I had a peace in my heart that I cannot describe. I had only met Bridget a few times, but I trusted her and knew that Allie was going to be just fine. I remember setting up her pack-n-play next to another little girl who was smiling and playing, and I knew that Allie would have a good time as well. What I didn't know was that the sweet little baby girl in the pack-n-play next to Allie would become her best-est friend in the whole world! These girls have been inseparable. And here they are, graduating Pre-School, about to start their next adventure. The only difference, they must do it without each other. Now that brings the tears! I know that special friends like this will stay friends no matter what, but school....without Bella......what will we do?

Allie said that she wants her 1st day of kindergarten shirt to say "I Miss Bella"

They had rehearsed this day for a while. It was so sweet and so special. We are going to miss Mrs. Susan sooooo much!

They sang songs and got their diplomas.

And of course, you gotta throw the caps!

We are so proud of our girl (s). On to the next adventure in life.

Happy 1st Birthday Sam

So, if you have been around me very long, you know that my motto in life is "Go Big or Go Home!" Especially when it comes to party planning.... I tend to go a bit over-board. Sam's 1st Birthday was not exception. I started working on this party months ago. I knew that I wanted to do a John Deere theme, but I also wanted to incorporate the farm as well. I should have know, Sandra would come through again with a precious cake and smash cake. I love them!

I also painted a door canvas to welcome our guests........Yeah, about that...... The day before Sam's party, I picked him up from my mom's and his eye was running pretty bad. Now, with Sam, this does not usually bother us because since birth, he has had a blocked tear duct or allergy eye. But this time, it was a little different. His whole eye was really red and it wasn't clear tears draining from his eye. My mom hesitantly suggested that it might be pink-eye. "No!" "Not Happening!" But after I got over myself, I decided to call a friend with years of Pediatric experience and described what was going on. She quickly suggested that I call and cancel his party. WHAT?! The party that I have been planning for months?! Yep..... Cancelled!

So what do you do when you have a cake? You party by yourselves! And that we did!

Oh, and did I mention that I searched for his birthday present all over the globe? I had found one in Australia.....and seriously considered it.....but then I found one.....in Arkansas! It was in Batesville. So I drug John (and Sam) all the way to Batesville to buy this wagon. That's called devotion people, not crazy!

Oh, and what self-respecting country boy doesn't need a John Deere Gator?

I love this boy and all the craziness he has brought to our lives. Our new phrase is "That's just life with Sam." Crazy, Unpredictable, Perfection!

Sam: 11 Months

This little guy is on the go.....ALL THE TIME! We are getting ready for our John Deere-themed 1st Birthday Party.

I ordered him his first pair of boots and his first cowboy hat....and of course, he doesn't want a thing to do with either of them! This boy may never wear shoes.

Where has the time gone?!

Snow Day 2012

The snow and ice hit on Christmas day. The power went out that night and stayed out for nearly a week. Josh and Avery brought Shaw over and the kids had a blast! The big kids had fun too!

The red-neck version of a horse and sled. A truck bed-liner and a 4-wheeler.....

Christmas 2012

Christmas started with a trip to the Courthouse to see the Christmas Lights. They had hot chocolate and Karaoke. Well.... me spunky little princess said "Don't mind if I do." I thought there was no way that she would get up on that stage. But she did. I thought there is no way that she is going to sing. But she did. When she forgot the words, I thought there was no way that she would stay up there. But she did. She sang "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way. Oh What fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh" over and over and over. It was precious! The crowd started clapping. It was great!

Our next Christmas adventure was Miss Bridget's Christmas Party. I was so ready to get the kids picture with Santa. I was so excited to get them in their matching outfits. They danced and had a great time! Oh, and looked soooooo cute! I could eat those eyes up!

The next Christmas party was Allie's Preschool party. It was wild and crazy as usual, but you gotta love this age. So fun!

Miss Susan and her kiddos! We are going to miss her and her parties next year!

Then off to Nana's where the fun never stops. We had our annual cookie decorating contest. Never a dull moment with these two girlies!

All of Nana's Sweet Tater Bugs!

Sam and Papaw Dewey. Such a sweet moment.

And despite what we told everyone, Santa did come to our house!

This Christmas was extra special and crazy fun. It actually snowed on Christmas. It also iced, which knocked out power to most of the town. Everyone, except the Davis'. So everyone came to our house for heat and showers. Mom and Papaw had caught some cold germs from Sam which turned into the TB ward at our house. We quarantined the sick in the bedrooms and everyone else played in the snow. Thank God for Lysol and Germ-X!
